I Am Legion [Noisia & Foreign Beggars] – Album Review

I Am Legion which consists of Noisia and Foreign Beggars, are an EDM and Grime collaboration of unrivaled sonic ability!

The intro to their self-titled track begs for a nice pair of Bang & Olufsen speakers and A Clockwork Orange story-line.  The Beggars take charge in “Farrada” while Noisia maintains a crisp and punctuated rhythm.  ”Make those moves” ups the ante with its energetic vibe which reminds us of the tune ‘Contact.’  ”Upper Ratio” is as creative as it is short, serving merely as an interlude to all this mayhem.  ”Jellyfish” is silky and smooth.  ”Ice” is eerie but unyielding.  It’s time for another interlude with “Blue Shift” so ready yourself.  ”Loose on the Leaves” could not get much more grimey so sit back and enjoy it, you can wash off later.  ”Choosing For You” is perhaps the hardest track yet and you should find a bit more of that bass on display.  ”Warp Speed Thuggin‘” is bare and much like “Farrada” which really showcases the Beggars talent.  ”Stresses part I and II” serve as two more interludes with the first a canvas soley for Noisia and the second for the Beggars.  ”Sunken Submarine” is an instrumental underwater and industrial adventure for sure.  ”Dust Descends” feat. Strange U, takes place in that submarine from before as you hear the pounding pressure of the water outside on the steel hull.  Thump Thump.  Strange U kills it by the way!  Now “Powerplay” is the hardest track on the album.  I take back what I said earlier.  ”Foil” feat D.Ablo, is not how I would’ve ended this album but it’s length and hypnotic sound does leave the listener in a better place than when they first started, so that’s cool.
Do yourself a favor and make this a go-to album for those late nights in your room below the ocean (or you know, in your apartment).
